Forming a U.S. LLC From Pakistan: A Practical Checklist

For Pakistani founders selling online, a U.S. LLC is often the route to U.S. payment platforms and international clients. The process is fully remote, but the documents need to be consistent from the first step.

Before you start

  • A valid passport — the name on it must match every form.
  • A proof-of-address document in English, or with a certified translation.
  • A clear one-paragraph description of your business.
  • A website, even a simple one, for bank and payment reviews.

The checklist

  1. Form the LLC in a state that fits a remote business.
  2. Get your EIN with Form SS-4 by fax or phone.
  3. Open a U.S. business account with a bank that accepts non-residents.
  4. Connect Stripe or another payment platform.
  5. Set reminders for Form 5472 and your state report.

Moving money home

Plan how you will transfer funds to Pakistan and how they will be reported locally before your first payout arrives. A local tax adviser can explain how the income is treated in Pakistan.
